What is Hip Pain?
Simply put, hip pain refers to any sensation of pain or discomfort in the area where the leg joint meets the hip.
What causes Hip Pain?
There are several causes of hip pain, including arthritis, trochanteric bursitis — in other words, a common problem that causes inflammation of the bursa over the outside of the hip joint — tendonitis, lumbar pain, Snapping Hip Syndrome, muscle strains, hip fracture, or a stress fracture.
How is Hip Pain treated?
Treatment depends on the type of hip pain experienced by the sufferer. Common methods of treatment are: ice and heat application, stretching, general physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medication.
