What is Low Testosterone?
Testosterone is a hormone, produced in the testicles by men, which governs a male’s “manliness” – sexual characteristics such as body hair, muscle growth, genital size, and even a man’s sex drive. After 30, most men will experience a slight decrease in the amount of testosterone that he produces. For some, this decrease is more than normal, leading him to have what is considered a low testosterone level, sometimes known as “Low T”. Medically, this would be below a man’s normal total testosterone range is about 300 nanograms per deciliter (ng/dL), something to the effect of 100 or 200 ng/dl.
How do you treat Low Testosterone?
There are testosterone injections, and also testosterone pellets, relatively new on the market. Both can increase a man’s testosterone to normal levels.
